Futures trading risk
Trading futures, options on futures and other derivatives involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. The high degree of leverage that is often obtainable in futures trading can work against you as well as for you. You may sustain a total loss of the funds you deposit, and you may be liable for losses beyond your initial deposit. You should carefully consider whether such trading is suitable for you in light of your financial condition and, where appropriate, seek independent advice.
Hypothetical and simulated performance
Any results generated by ConnectQ software from historical data are hypothetical. Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. In fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program.
One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.
ConnectQ’s engine is designed to reduce common sources of optimistic bias (signal-bar fills, fill-bar management, missing costs) and to require an out-of-sample holdout. These measures reduce, but cannot eliminate, the difference between simulated and actual results. Simulated fills, slippage, liquidity, data quality and platform behavior can all differ from live conditions.
What ConnectQ is and is not
ConnectQ LLC (“ConnectQ”) provides software for designing, testing and executing trading rules that you select and control. ConnectQ does not provide personalized investment advice, does not manage customer funds or accounts, does not solicit or accept orders, and is not registered as a broker, dealer, futures commission merchant, commodity trading advisor, commodity pool operator or investment adviser. Any decision to trade, including the use of any setup, model or configuration made available through the software, is yours alone. Automated execution can fail or behave unexpectedly due to software defects, connectivity, data or platform issues; you are responsible for supervising any account on which the software runs.
Nothing on this website or in the software is an offer, solicitation or recommendation to buy or sell any financial instrument.
